What is Ring of Pride?
Ring of Pride is an RP based e fed. OOC it's a shoot fed, meaning it's based around on camera scenes aimed at an upcoming match or opponent as opposed to off camera scenes. IC, it's a company based out of the Southwestern United States that operates in smaller venues with little glitz and glamour (ie pyro, big light shows and grand entrances).
What is Meltdown?
Meltdown is RoP"s bi weekly webcast, which features matches, segments and serves to build up feuds and the larger supercards that RoP produces.
Why is Meltdown bi-weekly?
Meltdown is a bi-weekly show because it gives the people on the card more time to roleplay so that they can put up some good stuff, as well as the fact that it allows people on the roster who may be working in another fed as well to continue their thing there while giving them time to be active here.
I'm not booked for the week, what do I do?
If you aren't on the Meltdown or supershow card for that time period, you can still write and send in segments for me to place on the results so that your character still gets "air time" and maybe even to further an angle or storyline you have going. You are also welcome to post in Character Development section of the boards and if you are really up to it, you could help me write results. There's a lot to do here, even if you aren't booked, although I can guarantee you that I'll try hard to get everyone booked on each card as much as I can.
I'm not getting title shots, what do I do?
Title shots in RoP are based on your roleplays. If you bust your ass show after show with amazing roleplays, you'll get title shots eventually. If you show me that you're improving week to week, you'll get titles shots, too. That's the key, just showing up, roleplaying and letting me know that you're giving it your all and trying your best.
I've heard about angle feds and the like, is that what RoP is?
Nope. Nothing in RoP is angle based. Every match will be won by whoever did the better roleplays for the week, not because of angles. That's not to say that we won't further storylines on our shows, we will. But if you win a match here, it's because you've earned it with your roleplays.
I've tried and tried, but my RPs don't seem to be getting any better.
Come to me. I'd be happy to help you and give you assistance with your roleplays. We'd be happy to give you advice, input, feedback, the whole nine yards.
What is the Texas Television Championship?
The Texas Television Championship serves several purposes. The first is paying homage to the rich wrestling history in Texas and all of the superstars of years past that have come from that state. Of course, that's not all the title represents. It's designed to be the most hotly contested and most often defended of the two RoP singles titles, designed to mainly put over new and up coming talent in the fed, though veterans can also challenge for it.
What is the RoP Southwestern Heavyweight Championship?
The RoP Southwestern Heavyweight title is the top title in Ring of Pride and should be the main goal of every superstar within it's ranks. This title is the most prestigious of all RoP titles and holding it means that you're the best of the best in the fed. Unlike the Texas Television title, which is defended at least on every other show and on both Meltdown and supershow events, this title is mainly defended at supershow events, though Meltdown defenses can occasionally happen.
What is Out for Blood?
Out for Blood is the main name of all RoP supershow events, save for the company's biggest show of the year and it's special year end supershow. In the grand scheme of things, Out for Blood events will happen four times a year and are like WWF's old In Your House events. Like all supershows in RoP, they're taped for DVD distribution later and feature matches in which many of the feuds and storylines going on at the time are centered. They are also named after a key match going at them or have a tag line referring to the main event.
What is a dark match?
A dark match is a match held before a supershow or Meltdown event that isn't part of the taping. Usually debuting characters will find themselves in one and veterans may even find themselves in one from time to time. They're done for several reasons. Firstly, because only so many matches can be featured during the tapings. Secondly, if you're debuting here, it can help me see your work and find a storyline or place for you on the shows easier than just putting you here, there and then over here show after show trying to find something for you. If you find yourself in a dark match, don't get down. Everyone will likely find themselves in one sooner or later. It just helps to prevent the shows from being massive, can help me figure out your characters if you're debuting or even provide a stress free environment for you to debut or just roleplay, even.
