RoP presents Meltdown
12/13/2010
Reno-Sparks Convention Center
Reno, NV
Attendance: 700
The show begins directly in an office, staring right at a table which holds upon it the name plate of one Simon Sensation. However, sitting upon the chair behind said table isn't the 'esteemed' owner of Ring of Pride. Instead of him, sitting there relaxed like he owns the place is none other than the colour commentator, Stu-E Price.
“I'm guessing you're surprised to see me sitting here in this office, and on camera just a little bit earlier than expected, huh?”
He pauses for a brief second, and just smirks.
“When I came here to sit behind a desk I watched injustice after injustice fall upon guys that I liked and guys I didn't like. Hell, it didn't take long for injustice to find its way to my door but what did I do? I battled and lost, fought and won but ultimately all I did was keep treading the line enough so I could wait till the time was right.”
Stu-E looks up, almost trying to pluck the words out of the air.
“Bah! The words escape me but where I stand right now is I could walk away from this business with a damned fine career or I could just quit being so damned selfish and do something to repair the damages I've been forced to witness. And to do that I'm going to call out two people that signify to me what this business is about, these two men I challenge to stand by my side and become bigger than who they are today in this company.”
Reaching over to a glass of water, he takes a sip just pausing enough.
“The first man is the embodiment of being told you're not good enough, but working his ass off to prove those doubters wrong. No matter how many times he loses a match, how many times he gets his ass kicked or how many times you say something to him so cutting that any regular guy would be on the phone to Samaritans every freaking day of his life! He still keeps coming back for more, and that's passion that you just can't buy, that man is none other than Bryan Deas.”
Stu-E claps slightly before cutting straight in to the next choice.
“As for the second bastard, he's caused me problem after problem but let's be fair; I've probably caused just as much back. There's no point telling you more about him; Dillon D' Angelo, we've been through hell together and I don't like you but we can work together to sort out this little place we call Ring of Pride.”
He stands up and walks around the table and sits on it.
“There you have it, we three men can fight for the one cause regardless of personal feelings toward each other. The men we will target, the men we will challenge and defeat have spent far too long toying with the wrestling business that we all have a common passion for and it's this reason that we three men can stand as more than just a symbol, we are 'The Business'.”
Casually Stu-E walks away from the desk and off camera as it focus' on the Simon Sensation name plate.
TL: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Hollywood, California…….”Ballistic” Bryan Deas!
“Why I Sing the Blues” starts to play and Deas makes his way out from the back to boos. He trudges down to the ring and rolls in before raising his hands up to a “you suck” chant.
AS: Bryan Deas has been…….well, on something of a roll as of late. He’s been winning matches and just a month ago was part of the Chaos Chamber. I hate the guy, I think he’s a moron, but he’s been coming into his own.
MG: Indeed and tonight he has a chance to prove that his win over Stu almost two months ago wasn’t a fluke.
TL: And his opponent……from Darlington, England……”England’s Favourite Wrestler” Stu-E Price!
“Kashmir” plays as Stu comes out of the back with Sofia at his side. The crowd goes crazy as Stu makes his way to the ring, leaves Sofia at the steps and then walks up to the apron and climbs into the ring.
AS: We heard what Stu had to say earlier to open the show and my god, he actually WANTS to align himself with Deas!
MG: Dillon too and the question you have to ask is whether or not those two will bite. I mean, joining Stu will mean taking on the boss and let’s be real, that’s a war they’d probably lose.
The bell rings and Deas charges Stu, nailing him so that he falls into the corner. As Stu straightens himself out, Deas nails some kicks on him, then a few uppercut shots before he grabs Stu by the head and pulls him out into the middle of the ring. He snap suplexes him down, then floats over and goes for a cover. Stu kicks out almost immediately and Deas nails some shots to his skull. He pulls Stu back to his feet and nails another snap suplex. He sits up and scowls as he looks around. He gets back up and waits as Stu gets to his feet and then he grabs him, looking for another suplex. Stu seems to be ready for it, though and shoves Deas into the ropes. Deas comes back at him and Stu nails a drop toe hold and then follows up with a front facelock on Bryan as he gets up. Deas nails some shots to Stu’s gut, but Stu keeps the hold locked in. Deas finally seems to be desperate as he lifts Stu up and charges him into a corner, nailing his back into the turnbuckle pads before he backs a few steps out of the corner and then back body drops Stu down.
AS: Some offense from Deas here early on and he’s not joking here, he’s gunning for the win……..though I have a feeling he may end up shooting himself in the foot here.
MG: Heh, Deas is coming out swinging and Stu’s in a desperate corner here. He’s got to do something other than a face lock or else he’ll have another loss to Deas on his record…..god that makes me shutter, Deas getting a win.
Deas catches his breath in the corner and as Stu gets up, charges out at him and nails a huge lariat that takes Stu down. Deas gets up and runs his hand through his hair before he reaches down and slowly pulls Stu up to a “Deas sucks ass” chant from the crowd. Bryan yells at them to shut up before he sets up for a gut wrench power bomb on Stu. He tries to lift Stu up, but Stu resists and grabs Deas by the tights. Bryan tosses him down and then goes to punt him right in the gut. Stu grabs his foot, though and then makes it to his feet to cheers. Deas seems to be begging with Stu not to hurt him as Stu glares at him, then pulls him into a belly to belly suplex. Deas hit’s the mat hard and holds his lower back as he gets up. Stu charges at him and clotheslines him over the top rope, causing Deas to stumble into the guard rail. The crowd is on their feet as Stu moves out onto the apron and as Deas goes to step away from the railing, charges at him and leaps off with a cross body onto him.
AS: HUGE cross body from Stu and the tide of this match has started to turn, hasn’t it?
MG: It has and now it’s Bryan Deas that finds himself backed into as corner, of course I’m sure he’s at home there.
Stu gets up with the fans going nuts and pulls Deas to his feet. He rolls Deas into the ring and then starts to climb the nearest turnbuckle. He just makes it to the top before Deas is up, then gets into the corner to grab him and chuck him off. Stu gets up slowly and walks right into a spine buster from Deas, who makes a cover. One……….Two! Stu kicks out! Deas pulls Stu up and then rockets him into the ropes. He goes for a power slam on him, but Stu reverses and ends up locking in a roll up on Bryan! One………Two! Deas kicks out! Stu gets up and right as Deas gets up, he comes behind him and then nails a forward leg sweep on him. Deas holds his forehead as he crawls over to the ropes and then goes to try and get up. As he does so, Stu comes behind him and nails a huge German suplex. Deas is folded up on the mat as Stu crawls over and gets on him for a cover. One……..Two…….! Deas kicks out!
AS: Holy hell, Deas got folded like a cheap accordion there! How in the hell did he kick out?
MG: You dunno, I dunno, I’d wager a bet that Stu dunno either Artie! Look at him!
Stu asks the ref if he was sure Deas kicked out in time. The ref tells him he did and with a sigh, Stu pulls Deas to his feet and nails some European uppercuts to him. He nails a third and lets Deas stumble against the ropes. He grabs Deas by the back of the head and then reels him in for an attempted piledriver. He goes for it, but Deas ends up back body dropping him. Stu lands on his feet behind Deas, though and as Deas turns around, he goes for a Stun Cutter. Deas shoves him into a corner, though and then charges in after him. Stu moves and Deas crashes into the corner. Deas seems to be catching his breath and as he does so, Stu comes running in and nails a British Pound! Deas stumbles out of the corner and Stu rolls him up with a school boy. One………..Two…………NO! Deas kicks out!
AS: How in the hell did Deas kick out of that?
MG: I don’t know, but that was as close as you can get, Artie. Deas was one millisecond away from losing here, but you got to imagine what’s going through Stu’s head. He asked Deas to join up with him and right now these two are taking one another to the limit.
Stu sits up and takes a deep breath before he looks at the referee and again asks if it was only a two count. He gets to his feet and then starts to pull Deas up. Deas surprises him with some shots to the midsection, though. Stu gets sent reeling back and ends up stumbling forward, right into a choke slam from Deas, who collapses on Stu right afterward. One……….Two………..NO! Stu gets a shoulder up and Deas is pissed, arguing with referee Richard Dent. The fans start to erupt, though as while he’s doing that, Stu is getting up right behind him. Deas turns and as he does, Stu leaps up and brings him down with a Stun Cutter! He rolls Deas over and gets a cover on him! One…………Two………….Three!
TL: Here is your winner via pinfall, STU-E PRICE!
AS: He did it, Stu beat Bryan and you have to wonder what this does for Stu’s proposal at the start of the show. Will Deas accept his offer or will he merely be bitter after this?
MG: I don’t know, but Stu stood tall tonight and I think it’s safe to say that even if he is making foolish business decisions, England’s Favourite Wrestler found his groove here!
MG- "Now we all the things that have been going on with Paige and now as we just recently heard the new Southwestern Heavyweight Champion, Shadow is involved in more ways then one."
AS- "You said it. It seems now the Champ is being stalked by someone he hurt in the past, and we all know that has to be a huge list. However, now the champ has a new mission."
MG- "Indeed he has. He has told everyone that if Paige is not returned that he will destroy everyone here."
AS- "If he comes this way, you're on your own."
MG- "Well we have some footage from earlier today. Showing just what Shadow meant."
We see Shadow walking into the building with a kendo stick in hand. When one the referees walks over to him.
Referee- "We're not have any trouble tonight. So why don't you just give me that and go get ready for your match."
Shadow looks at the kendo stick and then kicks the referee in the gut. As the referee doubles over, Shadow nails him across the back with a thunderous shot. He moves around the referee and nials him in the face with another one. As the referee is trying to get up, we can see that he is bleeding and then collapses again. A ring crew member runs over and gets between Shadow and the downed referee. Shadow looks down with a smirk on his face, as the crew member stands up between them. He suddenly kicks the man in the stomach and nails him with the Shaded.
Shadow- "I told everyone what would happen. They have all been warned."
Shadow looks down at the bodies and then simply walks off.
We go backstage to where Simon Sensation is standing in a room. A knock on the door is heard and Simon turns as Devon Saturday walks into the room.
DS: Simon you got a minute?
Simon nods, taking a seat behind a table as Devon walks in.
Simon: Yeah, sorry for being jumpy. I thought you were that son of a bitch Lucas for a second…….
Devon clears his throat and looks down at a piece of paper that he’s got in his hands.
DS: Yeah, I know it can’t be too good having that moron boss you around like he’s been. I was just wondering if you could give us the names of the people taking part in the Lethal Lottery tournament in two weeks.
Simon nods without hesitation.
Simon: Sure, Devon. As you know…….
He sighs and shakes his head.
Simon: Lucas and myself are taking part in the tournament. Our opponents for that night will be Stu-E Price and Anthony Royal.
Devon nods.
Devon: Sounds like a big match, what else do you got?
Simon looks down at a piece of paper he’s got on his desk and smirks.
Simon: Well, the second tag match that night will be a first for a Lethal Lottery tournament, Devon. It’s going to be a six man tag match or a trios match as some call it and will feature a newcomer to RoP, Marty “The Party” Valens teaming up with Levinator and Dillon D’Angelo to take on the threesome of Bryan Deas, newcomer John D. Timm and our current Texas Television Champion, Ace Andrews.
Devon nods.
DS: Sounds good, what else do you got for that night, boss?
Simon smirks and looks at Devon.
Simon: Well, in our last tag match, we’re going to see nothing short of a war, my friend. We’ll see Paige and Adam Linn take on Terry Marvin and our current Southwestern Heavyweight Champion, Shadow.
Devon’s eyes get wide.
DS: Shadow and Terry? Really? That hardly seems random to me……….
Simon sighs.
Simon: After the threats Terry has made to me and the problems him and Shadow had after the Chaos Chamber, I think this gives them a wonderful chance to settle their differences, don’t you?
Devon nods and furrows his brow.
DS: So what’s going to be on the line for this tournament, Simon? Rumors have been running rampant on what it could be, you know.
Simon nods and smirks.
Simon: Well, all I can say is that a cup……..a trophy will be awarded to the winner and I’d like to think some bragging rights go with that. If you’re able to outlast most of the other people on the roster in one night, I’d like to think that it gives you some claim to stake at being one of the best in this company, Devon. The way I look at it, this tournament could make superstars legends and make some of the young guns here superstars. Their fate is in their own hands as far as I’m concerned.
Devon nods.
DS: That’s some HUGE news. Folks, just to recap……we’ll have THREE Lethal Lottery tag team matches where the teams have been chosen at random. Stu-E Price and Anthony Royal will take on Simon Sensation and Lucas Sensation. In a special six man tag match, Christopher O’Toole will team with Levinator and Dillon D’Angelo to face John D. Timm, Bryan Deas and Ace Andrews and the final tag match will feature Adam Linn and Paige taking on Shadow and Terry Marvin. Whoever wins their tag matches will advance to a battle royal at the end of the night to face each other. Whoever remains standing in that one will be awarded with the Final Clash Cup, will have bragging rights and will certainly have closed out 2010 and leaped toward 2011 on the right foot.
TL: The following match is a non title bout scheduled for one fall! Introducing first……..coming to the ring from Denver, Colorado………”Deadly” Dillon D’Angelo!
“U Can’t Touch This” hits and Dillon walks out from the back to boos. He threatens a few fans verbally and then climbs up the steps to get into the ring.
SP: We just heard that Dillon will be a part of the Lethal Lottery event in two weeks here on Meltdown, but how about what we just heard, whoever wins the Lethal Lottery tournament will get the first title match of 2011?
AS: That’s big news, but this match right here has a lot riding on it too. Dillon lost the Southwestern Heavyweight title just a month ago in the Chaos Chamber and right here, he has a chance to prove it was a fluke.
TL: And his opponent………he is the current reigning Southwestern Heavyweight Champion……..’The Psychotic Enigma” Shadow!
“Nightmare” hits and Shadow walks out from the back with the gold around his waist. He takes a look around at the crowd, which is standing on their feet to see him. He makes his way down to the ring slowly and eyes Dillon as he gets into the ring.
SP: We know that in four weeks, Shadow will be challenging for the RoP Tag Team Championships with Paige, but what about Paige? She got abducted two weeks ago and we haven’t seen her since!
AS: It’s got to be weighing on his mind, but how about what we just heard? If Shadow wins the tournament in two weeks, he’ll get to name his first challenger for 2011. That’d be a big feather in his cap, Stu. He could name Deas as his opponent!
Before the bell rings, Shadow storms across the ring and nails some stiff shots on Dillon. He wails away on a doubled over Dillon’s back, then grabs him and nails a hip toss. Dillon holds his lower back as he gets up, but Shadow nails a scoop slam on him, then backs up a few steps and then takes a running start and drops a knee across Dillon’s face. Dillon rolls over to the ropes holding his face and slowly starts to pull himself up. Shadow stays on him, nailing some clubbing shots to his back before he pulls Dillon in and then lifts him up and drapes him gut first across the top rope. Shadow takes a few steps back, then charges and nails a stiff running knee lift to Dillon that echoes through the place.
SP: Ouch, Shadow is coming out swinging here and my god, I think the whole Paige situation has just motivated him to inflict even more pain to his opponents in that ring.
AS: I don’t know about you, but I would not want to be in Dillon’s shoes……not that he’s wearing them anymore. I think that shot from Shadow knocked them off.
Dillon lays on the apron holding his jaw as Shadow pulls the hair from his face and looks down at him. He grabs Dillon by the leg and pulls him into the ring before he rains down a load of stomps on the former champion. He pulls Dillon up to his feet and then nails some punches right to his skull before he grabs Dillon by the head and nails a running bulldog on him. Dillon rolls over and lays motionless on the mat as Shadow sits there and seems to soak the moment in for a second. He then gets on Dillon and goes for the cover. One………Two……….NO! Shadow kneels up and pulls Dillon up off the mat by the hair.
SP: What in the hell, he had a chance for a three count! This is uncalled for!
AS: I know you talked earlier about the potential that Dillon had, but good god……..I don’t think Shadow wants to let up on beating this guy down just yet.
Shadow pulls Dillon to his feet. The former champion seems unable to stand, but Shadow wails away on him with some stiff chops to the chest. The crowd goes “woo” with each shot, but then stops as Shadow reels Dillon in and nails a snap suplex on him. He floats over and then grabs Dillon as he locks in his hold known as The Torturer. The referee moves in to check on things and after a few seconds, waves for the bell to be rung.
SP: Did Dillon even give up? What in the hell?
AS: I don’t think he did, but I don’t think he’s even responsive right now, Stu.
TL: Ladies and gentlemen……as a result of a referee’s stoppage……your winner, SHADOW!
